Rose Bowl Flea Market

So a bit of exciting news- I’m moving out! After living at home for the past year and a half or so, I’m finally making the jump back to the real world and
moving out. Although, my roommate and I have already planned our living
room to be one giant fort, so can’t be so sure about that adult thing ;) How old
is too old to be making forts and drinking wine for dinner?

In desperate need of some furnishings for the new place, I headed to the Rose
Bowl Flea Market. Held on the second Sunday of every month at the Rose Bowl,
they have every thing you could possibly want. It’s like one big, giant treasure hunt
and with enough scavenging and digging, you can find whatever it is you need. It's
crazy how much stuff you need when you move out! Unfortunately, I had to leave
a lot of things when I moved back from New York so it's like starting all over again.

The Rose Bowl Flea Market is an open air swap meet and luckily, the weather was perfectly sunny.

It's something of a hipster's paradise with plenty of rugs, tschotchkys and old album

I'm not too sure any of these creepy-crawlies will fit in to the apartment decor...

And plenty of bright, shiny things. Do you think if I rubbed this magic lamp a genie
will come out?

You could easily spend hours just looking through all the stands and the different
items the vendors have at the flea market.

I got distracted with all the floppy hats for sale. I had my eye on this one but
couldn't commit.

And then, success! Put my eye on this sucker of a side table for only $10.

Quick tip, bring water and wear sunscreen as it does get hot out there, especially
wandering around so much.

All the thrift shopping and browsing put our stomachs in quite the mood, so we
headed out for some much needed brunch at Plate 38.

I think we ordered almost everything off the menu at Plate 38, getting the croque
madam, mac and cheese, grilled artichoke and a cup of coffee to round it out.

A croque madam is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a fried egg on top. Kind of perfect
and just the right amount of savory goodness, especially when you crack in to the yolk.

The side table with a few furnishings! Topped with a villa capri scented candle I also
picked up at the flea market.  Can't wait to put this in the new place officially.

Thanks for reading :)
